Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Fried Rice On The Nexgrill Gourmet PRO™

With the reversible griddle plate, you get the best of both worlds – a traditional grill grate for high-heat searing and a flat-top surface for restaurant-quality stir-fry. For this recipe, you’ll grill the chicken over direct heat while using the griddle plate to stir-fry the rice – creating a crispy, caramelized finish that locks in flavor with every bite.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce (for the chicken)
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. ginger, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil (for the chicken)
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice, chilled
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce (for the fried rice)
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil (for the fried rice)
  • 1 green onion, chopped

Preparation


  1. In a small bowl, whisk together teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Add the chicken breasts and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes to infuse deep flavor.
  2. Cook jasmine rice according to package instructions, then transfer it to the fridge to cool completely before stir-frying.
  3. Preheat your Nexgrill Gourmet Pro™ and set up dual-zone cooking:
    - High heat on one side for grilling the chicken. 
    - Medium heat on the other with the flat-top griddle plate installed for stir-frying.
  4. Lightly oil the griddle surface to prevent sticking. 

Cooking Instructions

    Place the marinated chicken on the high-heat, standard grilling side of your dual-zone setup. Grill for 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.

    While the chicken cooks, drizzle sesame oil onto the medium-heat zone. Scramble the eggs, then mix in cooked rice and vegetables. Add soy sauce and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, letting the flavors combine.

    Thinly slice the grilled teriyaki chicken and combine with fried rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds to taste. Enjoy!
